A product that makes the most of Yamanaka's woodturning and lacquerware techniques. These thin-turned cups are finished with a metallic exterior inspired by the colors of the four seasons in Ishikawa Prefecture.
Created by combining Yamanaka's traditional woodturning techniques and the *fuki-urushi* (wiped lacquer) technique that accentuates the wood grain with modern metallic coating technology, these cups are named "Utsuroi" (Transition) to express the changing of the seasons and a new form of tradition.
Size: S (180ml)
Color: Champagne Gold Fuki-urushi
Asada Shikki Kogei proposes Yamanaka lacquerware that can be used in everyday life. Everything from the traditional Yamanaka woodturning process to the final lacquering is carried out in their Yamanaka workshop. With the wish that people will enjoy the warmth of wood in their daily lives, the studio is characterized by its many casual pieces that still uphold the traditions of lacquerware.
