Sisyu / Calligrapher and Artist
Having cultivated skills in calligraphy, traditional Japanese dance, and other arts from a young age, she honed her expertise in traditional fine arts across Nara and Kyoto after becoming a calligrapher. She had the honor of guiding their Majesties the Emperor Emeritus and Empress Emerita during her exhibition at a museum in 2017.
She was awarded both the Gold Medal and the Jury’s Gold Medal at the SNBA exhibition held at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris in 2014.
In 2015, she was responsible for the artwork at the Japan Pavilion of the Milan Expo, which became the first Japanese pavilion to win a Gold Medal. Continually sharing Japanese culture and philosophy with the world, her work—which expresses the emotions and logic inherent in characters—is acclaimed as contemporary art that transcends the traditional boundaries of calligraphy.
